ICSSR Jobs Notification: Indian Council of Social Science Research(ICSSR) in New Delhi has released a notification for the recruitment of Research Assistant, Assistant Director, LDC posts. A total of 35 posts will be filled through this notification. Educational qualifications are decided post wise. Eligible candidates can apply till February 5.

Total Vacancies: 35
Assistant Director (Research): 08 Posts
Allotment of Posts: UR-5, SC-1, OBC-2.
Qualification: Master’s Degree with High Second Class in any Social Science discipline from a recognized University or equivalent qualification, 3 years work experience. Should be computer literate.
Age Limit: Should not exceed 40.
Salary: Rs.56100-177500.
Research Assistant: 14 Posts
Allotment of Posts: UR-7, SC-2, OBC-3, ST-1, EW-1.
Eligibility: MA with minimum 50% marks in any Social Sciences disciplines.
Age Limit: Should be between 18 – 28 years.
Salary: Rs.35400-112400.
Lower Division Clerk: 13 Posts
Allotment of Posts: UR-7, SC-2, OBC-2, ST-1, EW-1.
Eligibility: Higher Secondary or equivalent with minimum typing speed of 35 w.p.m in English and 30 w.p.m in Hindi.
Age Limit: Should be between 18 – 28 years.
Salary: Rs.19900-63200.

Selection Process
Selection will be based on Written Test & Computer Based Test, Typing Test, Shortlist, Interview, Merit List.
Assistant Director (Research)- Merit list will be prepared based on the performance of the candidates in Computer Based Test (Paper-1 (Part-A & Part-B)), Written Test (Paper-2) and Interview.
Research Assistant- Merit list for the post of Research Assistant will be prepared on the basis of performance of candidates in Computer Based Test (Paper-1 (Part-A & Part-B)) and Written Test (Paper-2) only. There is no interview for the post of Research Assistant.
Lower Division Clerk- Qualified candidates in Computer Based Test will be called for Typing Test. Typing test is sufficient if qualifying. Merit list is prepared based on the performance of the candidates in computer based test rather than speed in typing test. There will be no interview for the post of Lower Division Clerk.
Test Procedure
Lower Division Clerk: In Paper-1 (Objective Type). The examination will be conducted for 200 marks for total 100 questions (Time: 1 Hour*). General Intelligence- 25 questions, 50 marks; English Language- 25 questions, 50 marks; Quantitative Aptitude- 25 questions, 50 marks; General Awareness- 25 questions, 50 marks. Skill Test/Typing Test (Time: 10 minutes)
Research Assistant: (Paper-1 (Part-A(Objective Type) & Part-B (Objective Type))), the exam will be conducted for 250 marks for a total of 125 questions. General English- 25 questions, 50 marks; General Awareness- 25 questions, 50 marks; Quantitative Aptitude- 25 questions, 50 marks; General Intelligence- 25 questions, 50 marks; Part-B (Objective Type)- 25 Questions, 50 Marks. Time: 1.5 hours; Paper-2 (Descriptive & Language Proficiency Test) Time: 1.5 Hours; The exam will be conducted for total 100 marks. Subject and Qualification-Related Questions- 20 Marks; English Language and Comprehension, Essay Writing- 20 marks; Letter writing- 20 marks; Translation- Hindi to English and vice versa- 20 marks; Questions related to Social Science Institutions, their need, importance in society & their roles (detailed)- 20 marks.
Assistant Director: (Paper-1 (Part-A(Objective Type) & Part-B (Objective Type))), total 125 questions will be conducted for 250 marks. General Awareness- 25 questions, 50 marks; Numerical Ability- 25 questions, 50 marks; Reasoning Ability- 25 questions, 50 marks; English Language & Comprehension- 25 questions, 50 marks; Part-B (Objective Type)- 25 Questions, 50 Marks. Time: 1.5 hours; Paper-2 (Descriptive Type) Time: 1.5 Hours; The exam will be conducted for total 100 marks. Subject and Qualification-Related Questions- 20 Marks; English Language and Comprehension, Essay Writing- 20 marks; Letter writing- 20 marks; Explanation of Ideas in the English Language- 20 Marks. Interview – 100 marks allotted.
Examination Centre
Computer Based Test/Typing Test/Interview for the posts of Lower Division Clerk, Research Assistant & Assistant Director(Research) will be conducted at Delhi. However, if required, computer based test/typing test can be conducted in other cities also. ICSSR will have final decision in this matter
