Indian Navy has released a notification for admissions to 10+2 (BTech) Cadet Entry Scheme (permanent commission). Course commencing – Jul 2024

Indian Navy BTech degree course: The Indian Navy has released a notification for admissions to the four-year BTech degree course through the 10+2 (BTech) cadet entry scheme in executive and technical branches. Through this, 35 vacancies will be filled. Candidates who have passed Senior Secondary Examination (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) with minimum 70% marks and have secured rank in JEE (Main)-2023 examination are eligible to apply. Eligible unmarried male and female candidates can apply till January 20. Training takes place at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala State. Selection will be based on JEE (Main)-2023 rank, exam and interview.

Educational Qualification

Passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent examination from any Board with at least 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII).

Who can Apply

Candidates who have appeared for JEE (Main) – 2023 exam (for B.E/ B. Tech). Call up for Service Selection Board (SSB) will be issued on the basis of JEE (Main) All India Common Rank List (CRL) – 2023 published by NTA.

Medical Standards/ Relaxation in Height and Weight/ Tattoo

All candidates recommended by SSB are required to undergo medical examination applicable to 10+2 (B Tech) entry. Guidelines for medical standards are available on the Indian Navy website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. There is no relaxation in medical standards on any grounds.

Course commencing

From July 2024

Selection Process

Selection will be based on JEE (Main)-2023 rank, exam and interview.

Merit List

Merit list will be prepared on the basis of SSB marks. Candidates declared fit in Medical Examination will be appointed subject to availability of vacancies in Police Verification and Character Verification & Entry.

Training

Selected candidates will be admitted as cadets for four year BTech course in Applied Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electronics & Communication Engineering as per Naval requirements. After completion of the course, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) awards the B.Tech degree. Distribution of Cadets amongst Executive and Technical Branch (Engineering & Electrical) will be as per existing system.

Indian Navy will bear the entire cost of training including books and reading material. Cadets are also provided with qualified dress and messing.
