Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released notification for National Defense Academy (NDA) & Naval Academy (NA) Examination (I)- 2024. Through this exam, vacancies in executive and technical departments are filled in Indian Army, Navy, Air Force. NDA & NA Examination is conducted twice every year by Union Public Service Commission. Examination will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on 21st April, 2024 for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 153rd Course and for the 115th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from 2nd January, 2025. Eligible unmarried male and female candidates can apply online from December 20 to January 9.

UPSC NDA and NA Examination (I) 2024: Education Qualifications
Inter or equivalent qualification is required for army posts.
Candidates who want to apply for Air Force and Navy posts through 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme (Indian Naval Academy) should have Inter (MPC) or equivalent qualification.
Must meet certain physical standards. And only males are eligible for Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme) courses. Current second year students can also apply.
How to apply
Candidates are required to apply online by using the website upsconline.nic.in. It is essential for the applicant to register himself/herself first at One Time Registration (OTR) platform, available on the Commission’s website, and then proceeds for filling up the online application for the examination. OTR has to be registered only once in life time. This can be done anytime throughout the year. If the candidate is already registered, he/she can proceed straightway for filling up the online application for the examination.

Selection Process
Candidates will be selected through written test and interview by Service Selection Board.
Written test and interview procedure
There will be a written exam for a total of 900 marks. There are two papers in total.
- Paper-1 (Mathematics) will carry 300 marks and Paper-2 (General Ability Test) will carry 600 marks. 150 minutes allotted for each paper.
- There will be negative marks in the exam.
- Interview/SSB test will be conducted for those selected in the written test. 900 marks allotted for interview.
- Intelligence & Personality Test will be conducted for those who qualify in the written exam. In this, officers’ intelligence rating, picture perception and description test will be conducted. Interview, group tests, group discussion and other tasks will be conducted for those who qualify. The final selections will be made on the basis of total marks obtained in written test and interview conducted by SSB.
